The following are the crimes reported in Mangalore City Police Commissionerate during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 30/08/2011.

Motor Vehicle Theft: 01

·        A case of MV Theft has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On interviewing night of 27-28/08/2011 some unknown culprits committed theft of a Hero Honda Passion plus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-6723 belonging to one K Abdul Rehman Moosa (57) R/o Shanthi Nagar Thalapady Mangalore that was parked in front of Jumma Masjid at K.C. Road Mangalore. The total value of stolen vehicle is Rs. 30,000/.


Crime against Women: 01

·        A case under House trespass, Hurt, Intentional intent to provoke breach of the peace along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 27/08/2011 at 1900 hrs near Ambedkar Colony Madya village Mangalore Taluk accused Chandra, Sharada, Parvathi and Surendra criminally trespassed into the house belonging to one Kamala R/o Madya village Mangalore Taluk and abused her in filthy language and assaulted her and Savitha by hand and also gave life threat to them owing to trivial issue.

Fatal: 01

·        A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 29/08/2011 at 1110 hrs at Gundukallu Moodukonaje village Mangalore Taluk one M. Anwar rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Y-4811 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which motorcycle capsized. As a result pillion rider Asif sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 27/08/2011 at 1145 hrs near Adyarkatte at Adyar village Mangalore Taluk one driver of Gas Tanker drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-27-R-6125. As a result rider one Hanumantha and pillion rider Basavaraju sustained grievous injuries.

·        A case of Gambling under Karnataka Police Act has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 29/08/2011 at 1700 hrs on credible information PI Moodabidre PS along with staff conducted a raid on open place at Marnad village Mangalore Taluk and seized 06 cocks and cash Rs. 1,560/ by arresting Leo Shanthis, Chandrahas Shetty, Kittanna and Sundara Kotian who were indulged in betting on cock fighting.

Unnatural Death Report: 04

·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. On 28/08/2011 at 2100 hrs one Muthappa R/o Royal Residency Vas Lane Mangalore was suffering from chest pain and found dead while sleeping in his house. The death seems to be due some illness.

·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 28/08/2011 at 1730 hrs one Krishnappa Karkera R/o Kudukori Kadandale village Mangalore Taluk was suffering from chest pain in his house. Further he was admitted to AJ hospital Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on the same day at 2015 hrs. The death seems to be due to some illness.

·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 29/08/2011 at 1230 hrs one Sundari Poojarti R/o Paladka village Mangalore Taluk committed suicide by hanging at her house owing to health problem.

·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 23/08/2011 one Ronald S Varthika (55) R/o Jappina Mogaru Mangalore committed suicide by consuming poison at his house owing to health problem. Further he was admitted to Fr. Mullers hospital Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 29/08/2011 at 0600 hrs.


Missing Persons: 01

·        A case of Man missing has been registered in Barke Police Station. One Sudhir R/o Barke Mangalore left his house on 29/08/2011 and did not return his house thereafter. He has been found missing since then.
