Gambling Raid : Six Arrested, Rs 6,700/ seized

On 30/03/2011 at 1715 hrs a police team consisting of Sunil B Patil PSI Mangalore North PS along with staff on specific information conducted raid on Room No. 206 at Surya Lodge Mangalore At the time of raid Police found 06 persons playing “Ander - Bahar” with cards. Police seized cash Rs. 6,700/ and playing cards from the spot by arresting Chandra Kiran (42), Sachin B (25), Vijaya (42), Harish Salian (30), Hemanth Kumar (28) and Prashanth Kumar (31) who were indulging in gambling.

In this connection, a case has been registered against the arrested persons in Mangalore North PS U/s 79, 80 of the Karnataka Police Act.

No. KA-20-B-7937 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and applied break suddenly on SH-13 at Marpady village Mangalore due to which one Sowndarya (16) R/o Beluvai village Mangalore Taluk a passenger in the said bus was thrown out from the bus and sustained simple injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 30/03/2011 at 1545 hrs near Padil Railway Bridge at Padil Mangalore one driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2471 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-X-7746. She was found missing since then.

In between 1000 hrs of 27/03/2011 and 1600 hrs of 30/03/2011 one Prameela (23) D/o Koragappa Poojary R/o Gandotta Iruvail village Mangalore left her house and did not return to her house theater.
