The following are the crimes reported in Mangalore City Police Commissionerate during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 19/08/2011.

·        A case under Cruelty by husband and his relatives, Criminal intimidation along with Dowry Prohibition Act has been registered in Mangalore Women Police Station on the complaint of one Tejaswini (27) w/o Rajaneesh S. Poojary R/o Bejai new road Mangalore. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Rajaneesh S. Poojary (husband) and  his relatives Shekara Poojary, Sunanda, Vidya Suman and Ranjan Kumar gave physical and mental harassment to one Tejaswini and assaulted her by hand and also gave life threat her to bring more dowry.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 17/08/2011 at 1100 hrs on NH 66 at Tadambail Surathkal Mangalore one Ravichandra driver of Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-19-D-205 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Sadashiva (52) R/o Marigudi Surathkal    a pedestrian and caused him simple injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 18/08/2011 at 0930 hrs at Pandith house Permannur village Mangalore one driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-5392 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-EC-9065. As a result Preetham (19) R/o Permannur village Mangalore Taluk sustained simple injuries. The car driver escaped from the place without stopping his vehicle.

·        A case of Counterfeiting currency has been registered in Bajpe Police Station on the complaint of K.T Bhat, Manager Corporation Bank Permude branch Mangalore where in it is alleged that on 17/08/2011 some unknown customers came to the Corporation Bank Permude branch Mangalore and deposited cash. On checking, bank officials found 01 No. of counterfeit currency of face value Rs. 500/, in the bundle.


Unnatural Death Report: 01


·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. On 18/08/2011 at 1800 hrs one Sumathi (45) R/o Mudushedde Mangalore accidentally slipped well near her house while taking water from the well. The death seems to be due to drowning.
