The following are the crimes reported in Mangalore City Police Commissionerate during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 31/07/2011.

Murder:  01

·       A case of Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Murder has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 30/07/2011 at 2115 hrs accused Bharathesh Bangera and Ashwin Puthran criminally restrained one Shrikanth Kanchan (25) R/o Ullal Mangalore assaulted him by hand. They also assaulted Hitraj Amin (22) who came to help Shrikanth Kanchan. Further Bharathesh Bangera murderd Shrikanth Kanchan by assaulting him with knife owing to personal enmity.

·    A case under Criminal restraint, Hurt, Outraging the modesty of women, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 28/07/2011 at 1715 hrs at Pinto garden Padavinangady Mangalore accused Xaviour Aloysian Antony Pinto criminally restrained one Helen Pinto (46) R/o Pinto garden Padavinangady Mangalore and abused her in filthy language and tried to modesty of her by pulling her hand assaulted her by hand. He also assaulted Ronald Pinto and Santhosh Lasrado who came to help   Helen Pinto and also gave life threat to them owing to civil dispute.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 30/07/2011 at 1645 hrs at Charnthipete Karnadu village Mangalore Taluk one Raju driver of Eicher lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-20-B-3911 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a Maruti Omni car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-7413. As a result one Jagadish driver of said Omni car sustained simple injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 30/07/2011 at 1230 hrs at Pachanady Bondel villge Mangalore one Ananda driver of Auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-A-6671 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which the auto rickshaw capsized. As a result Vishalakshi (40) R/o Moodushedde village Mangalore Taluk, Dhanush and Vignesh who were traveling in the said auto rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 30/07/2011 at 1325 hrs On NH17 at Thokkottu Permannur village Mangalore one Lingappa driver of KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2882 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a Lorry bearing Reg. No. KA-40-3914. As a result one Subin Kumar (35) R/o Kumble Kasargod District Kerala a passenger of said bus sustained simple injuries.

·        A case under Attempt to Murder has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 29/07/2011 at 2030 hrs at Chokkabettu junction Mangalore Taluk accused Mohammed Asif and another person assaulted one Davood Naushad R/o Katipalla village Mangalore Taluk with knife and tried to kill him owing to trivial issue.
