The following are the crimes reported in Mangalore City Police Commissionerate during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 01/03/2011.

Burglary: 01

·        A case of Burglary has been registered in Konaje Police Station. In between 2000 hrs of 11/02/2011 and 0830 hrs of 13/02/2011 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Showrin Vegas R/o Sakardabail Pajeer village Bantwal Taluk by breaking the back door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments.

·        A case of MV Theft has been registered in Mangalore South Police Station. In between 1630 hrs and 2300 hrs of 14/02/2011 some unknown culprits committed theft of a Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Y-5482 belonging to one Prem Kumar D Souza (31) R/o Moodabidre Mangalore that was parked in the parking place of Fr Muller Hospital Kankanady Mangalore. The Bajaj Pulsar motorcycle is worth Rs. 45,000/.

Fatal: 01

·        A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Ullal Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 1350 hrs near Beeri junction at Kotekar village Mangalore Taluk one Bhimappa Krishnappa Madar driver of  KSRTC bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-F-2786 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner due which one Sundari (65) R/o who was traveling in the said bus was thrown out of the bus and sustained serious injuries and died on the spot. Further she succumbed to his injuries while on the way to hospital.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Traffic East Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 1550 hrs near Kadri Pump House at Kadri Mangalore one driver of car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-P-8113 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a scooter bearing Reg. No. KA-19-EC-1604. As a result one Factoric Roch (56) R/o Kadri Hill Mangalore rider of said scooter sustained grievous injuries.

·          A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 0950 hrs on SH-13 at Mijar village Mangalore Taluk one Padmanabha Shetty driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-6702 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a car bearing Reg. No. KA-19-Z-6828 driven by Pramukha Rai (35) R/o Mannagudde Mangalore. As a result car got damaged. No causality reported.  

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 0830 hrs at Thodankila Kallamundkoor village Mangalore Taluk one Somashekara driver of bus bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-9279 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-EA-3710. As a result one Sachin (20) R/o Kallamundkoor village Mangalore Taluk rider of said motorcycle sustained grievous injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mulki Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 1230 hrs at Dharmasthana Karnadu village Mangalore Taluk one Kiran driver of auto rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-B-8846 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a Bicycle. As a result Bicycle rider one Sadananda sustained simple injuries.

·        A case under Criminal restraint, Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace, Hurt along with Criminal intimidation has been registered in Mangalore North Police Station. On 28/02/2011 at 0330 hrs accused Manjunatha V (29) and Rakesh Prasad (25) criminally restrained and abused one Kishore Kumar (40) R/o Urwa Market Mangalore in filthy language near Laxmi Jeweler shop at Balmatta road Mangalore and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to personal enmity.

Unnatural Death Report: 01

·        A case of Unnatural Death Report has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 07/02/2011 at 0730 hrs one Jhanaki (72) R/o Hosabettu Surathkal Mangalore accidentally got serious burn injuries while lighting a kerosene lamp in her house and she was admitted to A.J. Hospital at Mangalore where she succumbed to her injuries while under treatment on 28/02/2011 at 0700 hrs.

Missing Persons: 03

·        A case of Man missing has been registered in Mangalore East Police Station. One Walter Albert D Souza (79) who left the Little Sister of Poor Home at Bajjodi Mangalore on 26/02/2011 and did not return to the Little Sister of Poor Home thereafter. He has been found missing then.

·        A case of Girl missing has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 25/01/2011 one Vandana (20) D/o Gopala Poojary R/o Gurunagara 9th Block Katipalla village Mangalore Taluk went to work at Kottara Chowki Mangalore and did not return to her house thereafter. She has been found missing since.

·        A case of Man missing has been registered in Mangalore Rural Police Station. On 16/02/2011 at 0630 hrs one Chandrahasa (48) R/o Adyaru Gutthu Adyar village Mangalore Taluk wenk to Mangalore and did not return to his house thereafter. He has been found missing since.
