·        A case under Cruelty by husband along with Abetment of suicide has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station on the complaint of one Lancy Lobo (32) R/o Savanalu village Belthangady Taluk. In the complaint it is alleged that accused Joseph Alwin M.A (32) R/o Shirthady village Mangalore Taluk gave physical and mental harassment to one Leena Lobo (28) W/o Joseph Alwin M.A R/o Shirthady village Mangalore Taluk due which on 02/01/2012 at 2030 hrs she was committed suicide by consuming some poison at her house. She was admitted to KMC Hospital at Mangalore where she was declared dead while under treatment on the same day.

·        A case under NDPS Act has been registered in Surathkal Police Station. On 03/01/2012 at 1615 hrs on credible information PSI Surathkal PS with staff arrested one Ravi @ Ravindra (24) R/o Muddebihala Taluk Bijapur District and seized 2700 kgs of Ganja from him. Police apprehended him while he was selling Ganja at Bala village Mangalore Taluk. The seized Ganja is worth Rs. 25,000/.
