The following are the crimes reported in Mangalore City Police Commissionerate during the last 24 hrs as at 1600 hrs on 19/12/2011.

·        A case of Burglary has been registered in Ullal Police Station. In between 1800 hrs  of 17/12/2011 and 1200 hrs of 18/12/2011 some unknown culprits gained entry into the house belonging to one Mohammad Haneef (30) R/o Kotekar village Mangalore Taluk by breaking the front door lock and committed theft of gold ornaments and cash  All in worth Rs. 3,00,000/.

·        A case of Burglary has been registered in Kavoor Police Station. In between 17/12/2011 and 2000 hrs of 18/12/2011 some unknown culprits gained entry into the Judge quarters belonging to Shakunthala S R/o JMFC 4^th Mangalore by breaking the back door lock and committed theft of gas stove and 2 burnals. Worth of the stolen property is not estimated.

Fatal: 02

·        A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Traffic East Police Station. On 18/12/2011 at 0330 hrs at Bendorewell Mangalore one Matsyaraj rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-J-3015 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against road devider. As a result Mathsyaraj and Mohammad Ashif sustained grievous injuries. But one Matsayaraj succumbed to his injuries dead on the spot.

·        A case of Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Traffic East Police Station. On 17/12/2011 at 1930 hrs at Yeyyadi Mangalore one rider of motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-19-W-1244 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against one Ganesh (55) R/o Shakthi Nagar Mangalore Taluk a pedestrian and caused him grievous injuries. Further he was admitted to Wenlock Hospital at Mangalore where he declared dead while under treatment on 18/12/2011.

Non-Fatal: 02

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Mangalore Traffic East Police Station. On 17/12/2011 at 2015 hrs at U.P Mallya Road Mangalore one driver of Tempo rickshaw bearing Reg. No. KA-19-C-4205 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and lost control over his vehicle due which Tempo rickshaw capsized. As a result one Gopinath (35) R/o Kankanady Mangalore traveling in the Tempo rickshaw sustained grievous injuries.

·        A case of Non Fatal Road accident has been registered in Moodabidre Police Station. On 17/12/2011 at 1200 at Marpady village Mangalore Taluk one driver of pick-up Tempo bearing Reg. No. KA-19-D-1391 drove his vehicle in a rash and negligent manner and collided against a motorcycle bearing Reg. No. KA-21-H-3485. As a result motorcycle rider Vijay D’Costa R/o Valpady village Mangalore Taluk sustained grievous injuries.

·        A case under Rioting, Criminal restraint, Hurt along with Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace and Criminal intimidation  has been registered in Konaje Police Station. On 18/12/2011 at 1000 hrs accused Abubakkar Siddiq, Ashif, Abbas, Aziz and other persons forming into unlawful assembly at Mudipu village Mangalore Taluk and criminally restrained one Sathish (29) R/o Sajeepa Munnur village Mangalore Taluk and abused him in filthy language and assaulted him by hand and also gave life threat to him owing to trivial issue.
