Clarification

There has been statements issued by some people in the media regarding the investigation of Konaje police station crime number 192/2013. In order to place the correct facts before the public this clarification has been issued.

2.         Konaje PS Cr.No. 192/2013 was registered on 19/12/2013 based on the written complaint by the victim. At the time of receiving the complaint the concerned police officer suspected the involvement of section 376 IPC and questioned the complainant who in turn has denied the same. Further the complainant did not co-operate with the investigation officer for the medical examination and requested the Investigation Officer not to allow publicity for this case.

3.         During the investigation, the police had launched massive operation to catch the suspects and able to apprehend all the accused within 48 hours. All the accused are in Judicial Custody till now. From the date of arrest till now lot of progress has been achieved in the investigation.

4.         The statement of the victim was got recorded under section 164 Cr. P.C before the Magistrate and same was made available to the IO on 02.01.2014 evening. Based on the investigation conducted so for, the investigating officer has filed a memo to the court to add section 376 and 376D IPC to the case on 03.01.2014.

5. The police assure the general public that a thorough investigation will be carried out and a Charge sheet will be submitted to the court well within the time frame stipulated by law against all the accused persons.
